I am on my FOURTH battery for the pedometer.
It is frustrating but less expensive than buying a new one.
Brand name batteries, installation went smoothly.
I hope this one lasts more than a month.

Was grocery shopping and getting everything in line for conscious eating this weekend.
Lots of greens, lean meat, snacks....HEALTHY, or at least healthier snacks.
One thing I bought last week which was okay was the new Kellogg's Special K crackers in the multi grain flavor.
They are much smaller than the picture on the box (of course).
They made a nice pairing with a few slices of Monterrey Jack cheese.
120 calories for 24 crackers or 90 calories for 17.
I also got the revered Emerald cocoa dusted almonds!!
Well, I am penning this blog because I have a HORRIBLE stomach upset....with bloat and the D word....
"What on Earth'? I thought.
Looked over the labels again carefully.....last week or the week before I found something in my mini-wheats which made me sick...anyway.....
The nuts have SUCRALOSE in them...AKA the deadly (to my stomach) SPLENDA!
Why on Earth would this otherwise wonderful snack be ruined by that crap?
I still am in the minority (of the people I ask) with the tummy trouble with Splenda but JEEZ......it is really bad....and PAINFUL!
So....the nuts are a no-no...too bad because they tasted great!
I'll try roasting my own and sprinkle with either cocoa alone or cocoa and turbinado sugar.

My first blog entry.

I was looking back on my entries to my first entry.
My first blog entry can be seen here.
A lot has changed. A lot has stayed the same.
It's been one and a half years.
I lost 36 pounds then regained nearly 22.
Net loss of 14 pounds in (let's say) 18 months....C R A P!

I am on longer going forward with the LapBand but, I'm still overweight.
I'm still on BP meds, and I'm still overweight.
I can walk 5+ miles a day no problem, but, I'm still overweight.

I still live in two states.
(or, state of confusion....lol)
I can't or am unwilling to make the leap......WHY!?

I still have back pain averaging 4-5 on the pain scale.

I still don't know why.

Good news...no surgeries in three years.....lol.....

off to Poker night....shhh..don't tell anyone.

Senseless cruelty

Worked on a young man this morning.
He is SP one year from multiple skin grafts 3rd degree burns 90% of his body.
He was grossly disfigured, limbs contracted...in pain....
He smiled a few times, even laughed...
He was witness to his mother's murder....his house set ablaze...
The perp died....
How and why would anyone do that to another human being?
Just LEAVE the situation...
I cried.
I hope that young man finds peace.
I feel like a heel complaining about my washing machine...my feet hurting or my backache....

Doing my laundry...hey, because it is something I procrastinate in doing.
The fucking washing machine is silent much faster than it should be..."it couldn't have finished yet" I said...
Nope, sure as shit it didn't finish. It was just sitting there.
Spun the dial, nothing. Closed the lid tight, nothing.
SLAMMED the lid shut, nothing.
Re-spun the dial..still nothing.
I dialed up another cycle figuring the laundry Gods were just fucking with me.
Several minutes go by and SILENCE again.
I have work clothes in there.
I have workout clothes in there.
I have socks in there.
I did not bring many clothes back up....basically enough to get through a week...barely.
So I ran them through another agitating cycle to make sure they were clean.
Scrubbed the kitchen sink and went to work dumping soaking sudsy clothes into the sink....rinsing them and trying to squeeze the water out of them before throwing them into the dryer.
Jesus Christ people had to do this by hand huh!?
Crap.
Now, the dilemna.
I dislike the demographic in the area and surely am not going to go to any laundromat locally.
I dislike the idea of laundromats in general.
People with scabies, lice, herpes, MRSA.....etc use laundromats. Are they as conscientious as they should be about their communicable statuses? Doubt it.
I am off Thursday. I'll have to get the Super to come in then and fix the thing.
I cannot have them in the apartment without one of us here.
We have too much electronic equipment around which I would like to not have stolen.

I know I brought this upon myself.
I am oozing negative feelings about being here.
I actually am in pain over it.
I hate throwing the hate word around..but I HATE being here with him.
It makes me physically sick.
I have to approach this better emotionally. Everything will start breaking.

Had to scoot back to the apartment FAST....impending potty accident....WTF!?
Was having a great time outside on an otherwise beautiful Spring day then suddenly the gurgling....pain and worry about needing a bathroom.....
Got home, I'm ok..no accidents.
I'm pissed off because I had Frosted mini wheats (no milk) today and flavored seltzer...that's IT!!
What the hell?
Had I eaten anything else? Nope.
Did I have chewing gum with that shit in it? Nope.
I picked up the box of cereal and thank you very much, there it was....SORBITOL.
The "ols" and many artificial sweeteners cause me a good deal of gastric distress. I thought I was being careful. NEVER thought a breakfast cereal would have Sorbitol in it.
I ate this cereal several other times but already had Immodium onboard.....
CRAP!! (do NOT pardon the pun!!)
I loved that cereal. Great tasting, small crunchy treat....no more...Damn it all.
I've been to the bathroom three times in two hours and the pain is still there.
Took a shower and am waiting for it to be "safe" for me to go grocery shopping ('cause I am the only one who can grocery shop of course).
Pissy ending to a great afternoon.....
