Sidelined with work and moving and life.
Getting back into it Monday 4-11-11

Grrr....hate staring again...it always seems so friggin' hard.....
I KNOW I'll feel differently next week...I know it.....I hope I know it.

A year later

Still walking. Incorporating running slowly but surely.
WAS going to enter a half marathon in SC in February but it will only be a 5k now.
"Only". Last year and before I had thought about running events but NEVER would have actually entered.

Still walking,or WOGGING (my walks with jogs intertwined, EVERYDAY. The days I don't walk are due to surgery and its recovery.
I wear the pedometer MOST days, not the whole day, just exercise.
It is a hassle to wear it at work and I am OK with that.
My resting HR has dropped from the high 70's to the mid 60's.

Down 42 pounds this last year....and since August I have re GAINED more than half of that.....

BUT...and yes, it's a big one..haha....I am HEALTHIER than I have been in about a dozen years.
I can run (ok, maybe walk) circles around ANYONE at my gym or inner circle as far as exercise goes and YES, that goes for the skinny mini's too!

So HA!

Another year of re commitment is ahead of me.....

The game was postponed so we went to the gym!
Worked on arms, now they hurt.
Only walked two miles this morning. Steep incline between 5-8!!
Would like to see some more BIG numbers on the Omron.
If my arms don't fall off, I will walk on incline again in the morning.

Have NOT felt like writing here for a long time.
Things are stagnant.
I am eating well. I am exercising like crazy for a week or two then become a slackass and don't see the gym for just as long.
I am walking everyday on the treadmill.
I am still NOT going to resort to surgery.
I then think....I would have been there already and get aggravated with the whole shbang.

Now see, this is one good thing about the internet.

I went to the Sugar in the raw site to post a link for information about Turbinado sugar.
Low and behold they have a Stevia product also. I was using Truvia and Purvia. Clicking through their site they have recipes and conversion tables for using their brand of Stevia.

I change one thing with the recipes which makes for some strange concoctions. I do not use Splenda. I hate the stuff..rather the stuff hates me.
I use either Stevia or (gasp) Turbinado sugar.....a little bit. It's a healthier choice and we use so little sugar here it isn't an issue.On muffins etc. it seems to crystallize and you have to play with baking times...otherwise all is fine.
I'd rather have darker looking baked goods and not some chemical chain sending me to the toilet for hours on end bent over in pain.
The Fiber One I reach for a lot for coating.
So come on Hungry Girl.....get off the Splenda bandwagon for those of us who need an alternative sweetener....pretty please.

I made the salad and it doesn't taste like it did at the party.
Maybe it has to sit overnight?
I'm too shy to ask again about the ingredients.....silly.
She said there was no dressing in it....mine tastes like...well...grass.....dry with lime....
I mixed it up more and will serve it again for dinner.
We'll see.

Had a bowl of this and a half chicken breast. It was all I could do to finish.
I'm going to try to make this myself and see if it tastes the same.

Got up later than usual but got in early exercise and it felt GREAT!!
I'm seeing changes and I know why....I'm doing the WORK!!
It's so frickin' easy.....why don't I keep at it???????

No, not for me.

People all the time tell me I should be getting more calories.
Well, from my experience in this body I do not lose weight until I am 1200 or lower.
I keep it at 1500 only to account for the fuel I need for exercising.
I want to work on the sodium I am taking in.
I do not eat out a lot.
I do not do fast food.

I made dessert shots

I just finished assembling dessert shots for tomorrows get together.
I have made 50 glasses. Ten people confirmed...who knows how many will show up.
We have:
Brownie, White Choc pudding
Brownie with Devils food pudding
Cherry, Cheesecake
Strawberry Cheesecake
Oreo, White chocolate pudding
Half of each have choc shavings, other half have strawberries.
Yummo!

I am on my FOURTH battery for the pedometer.
It is frustrating but less expensive than buying a new one.
Brand name batteries, installation went smoothly.
I hope this one lasts more than a month.
